Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive diesel
  • Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs, required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have minimum tool requirement
  • Must have good motor vehicle record
  • Must road test vehicles as necessary
  • 1-4 years or more Relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred or willingness to obtain
  • All other certification as required by location, required
  • Pre-employment drug test and background check will be required prior to starting

Duties
  • Follow a checklist of inspection procedures
  • Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions, and make necessary repairs.
  • Raise trucks, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles
  • Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts
  • Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly
  • Maintain accurate records and follow fleet pm maintenance.
  • Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
