Job Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Basic tool set (must meet minimum requirement)
  • Demonstrated aptitude in diesel and mechanical repair
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Ability to road-test vehicles when needed

Preferred:

  • Vocational or technical certification (post-secondary or ASE)
  • 1–4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Advanced repair skills (major engine repair, diesel after-treatment, or fuel injection systems)
  • CDL Class A license (preferred) or willingness to obtain
  • All other certifications as required by location

Duties
  • Follow detailed inspection and preventative maintenance (PM) checklists
  • Test-drive vehicles to diagnose issues and verify repairs
  • Use hydraulic jacks or hoists to raise trucks and heavy parts
  • Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and electrical systems
  • Perform routine maintenance — oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and tire/brake work
  • Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts/screws, and replace system components
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical or electrical parts
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and adhere to fleet PM schedules
  • Ensure all work meets company and safety standards
