We’re hiring an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Diesel Tech III) in Salt Lake City, UT to perform preventative and routine maintenance on both on-highway and off-highway fleet equipment.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Basic tool set (must meet minimum tool requirement)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diesel repair experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Clean/acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Must be able to road-test vehicles as needed

Preferred:

  • Vocational or technical certification (post-secondary or ASE)
  • 1–4+ years of diesel or heavy equipment maintenance experience
  • Advanced repair ability (major engine work, diesel after-treatment, or fuel-injection systems)
  • CDL Class A (preferred) or willingness to obtain
  • All certifications required by location

Duties
  • Follow inspection and preventive maintenance (PM) checklists
  • Test-drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs
  • Raise and work on trucks, heavy parts, and equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
  • Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and electrical systems
  • Perform oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and other routine maintenance tasks
  • Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts, and attach or replace system components
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning mechanical and electrical parts
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and follow fleet PM schedules
  • Ensure all maintenance meets company and safety standards
