Customer Service/Warehouse Associate – Join Our Team in Yorktown!

We’re currently seeking a Customer Service/Warehouse Associate for our Yorktown store! Our company specializes in providing top-quality sprinkler and irrigation supplies to a wide range of customers and facilities throughout the area.

In this role, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for customers—whether in person, over the phone, or through will-call orders. As a Customer Service Representative (CSR), you’ll use your product knowledge to offer helpful recommendations, answer questions, and support customers in building and growing their landscape businesses. A friendly attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to excellent service are key.

In addition to customer service duties, you’ll also assist with warehouse operations, including receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and preparing orders for delivery or pickup. If you're someone who enjoys helping others and thrives in a hands-on environment, we’d love to meet you!

Qualifications

  • Ability to frequently lift and move items that weigh up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Possess or obtain forklift certification.

Duties
  • Eagerly greets walk-in and phone customers, and listens to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Treats customers as business partners, by recommending product solutions, upsell options, and complimentary items designed to make their jobs easier and more profitable.
  • Collaborates with team members and utilizes all company resources to sell Horizon's value and give customers the best service and experience possible.
  • Prepares sales orders and assists customers in selecting and loading merchandise.
  • Makes follow-up calls to potential and existing customers to introduce opportunities and solicit additional business.
  • Resolves customer complaints professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a clean, well-organized, well-stocked sales center.
  • Assists in receiving, shipping, and general warehouse duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    EMPLOYEE SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY



    The Policy of the company is to maintain a drug and alcohol free work enviroment that is safe and productive for our employees and others having business with our Company. To meet these objectives, the following policy has been adapted.

    "The unlawful use, possession, purchase, sale, distribution or being under the influence of any illegal drug and/or the misuse of legal drugs while on Company or Client premises or while performing services for our Company or Client is strictly prohibited. The Company also prohibits reporting to work or performing services while impaired by the use of alcohol or consuming alcohol while on duty.

    In order to ensure compliance with this policy, substance abuse screening may be conducted in the following situations:

    Pre-Employment: As may be required / requested by our Company or Clients.
    For Cause: Upon reasonable cause to believe that a substance abuse problem exists, testing may be conducted.
    Random: Unannounced random selection of employees may be performed.
    Post Accident: Any employee involved in an accident/injury while performing services for our Company or Client that results in property damage or bodily injury requiring medical treatment will be required to submit to a substance abuse screening.

    Compliance with this policy is a condition of employment. Employees who test positive or who refuse to submit to a substance abuse screening will be subject to termination. Notwithstanding any provision herein, this policy will be enforced at all times in accordance with applicable State Laws.
